Gezellig.

The direct English translation is cozy, however there is a lot of cultural significance to the idea of Gezellig.   Gezellig is the warm feeling as you sit in a cafe with friends, enjoying life in a comfortable ambiance. It is a home cooked meal on a rainy day.  Gezellig is not waiting in the rain alone for the bus.  The Dutch saying Gezellig has a deep connotation with the idea of cozy gathering cafes that can be found all throughout the country.  Some links below are some of my favorite Gezellig spots.
